Six Word Friday-Joy

The last day of school=Joy!

Mama teacher and boy students will

embark on summer travels, get away

from the grind, schedule, alarm clocks.

This brings much joy to us!

Joy= fulfilling a dream, Africa bound!

Minnesota lakes, road trips with boys,

plentiful gardens, hot sun, family, cousins,

flowers, music, dancing and letting go,

bring such joy to this heart.

Hard days come and joy still remains,

always there in the little things.

Joy is my boys' little giggles,

and hugs for mama a plenty.

Joy resides in my heart, always.

Yes, i'm going to AFRICA....a life long dream. I'll be in Zimbabwe doing some outreach work (HIV/AIDS, sustainable living, etc.) and studying some music and dance....can't wait!

Yours Truly

I am a contemplative mama of two boys, who see my best and my worst. They love me no matter. What a blessing! I am a single mother, a Peace Studies major with a Writing minor at Naropa University, a former preschool teacher, food co-op founder, activist, and highly reflective spiritual being-completely enchanted with God, yet disenchanted with much of religion. Africa is written on my heart and in my destiny. I can't wait to go back. I look for beauty and inspiration in simple everyday miracles.

My first born

E was born when I was 20 and thus far has taught me as much about life as I have taught him. He is a gentle boy that has a heart as big as his mama's. He is naturally musical, and has an amazing imagination. He attends Waldorf school where he is nurtured in the areas of music, art, spirituality, drama, handwork, and academics. He is so great to his little brother (well, mostly) and thrives on quality time with his family and friends. A sweeter, more caring boy I could not ask for. He is pretty darling and I couldn't be any more in love with my first born.

My young one

My 6 year old J is a fireball. He is sensitive and sweet, but also determined and willful. He adores his brother almost as much as his mama and papa. He knows what he wants and is not afraid to hold out for it, no doubt a trait that will serve him in life even if it sometimes drives his mama crazy. He is very affectionate and absolutely adores dress up and make believe. He gets deep stuff and even recently told his grandma, "you can't see God, but you can feel God" as he laid his hand over his heart. Truly a boy after my own heart.
