A trait I value over any.
It shines from heart through eyes.
It manifests in deeds of love.
Kindness is a soft safety net
catching us in an unpredictable world.
It lives inside of us always.
I believe it's our true nature.
Our fears and insecurities mask it
from time to time in defensiveness.
Our hearts are soft, we protect.
Our hearts and others deserve cradling.
It's a sincere inquiry of well being,
a lunch dropped to the homeless,
it's holding someone's heartbreak with compassion,
a loving touch on the shoulder,
a wave of love through eyes,
a genuine prayer for other's struggles,
a simple benefit of the doubt,
openness to another point of view,
looking for the best in others,
seeing all humans as equals, regardless
of education, jobs, religion, status, style.
It's holding all in one's heart
with a sincere desire to help:
the victim, the perpetrator, the whole.
EVERYONE deserves kindness, love, compassion.
These things change us for better.

This is beautiful. We watch Harry Potter a lot these days and my son said that Hagrid is very kind. I thought about why he said that and I think it's because he has an open and compassionate heart and cares for other people and wild creatures just like he does himself.
Here's to more kindness in the world!
Kindness is a safety net, catching us in an unpredictable world ~ great line! Beautiful thoughts!
Kindness makes us happier-well said :)
A lovely post. I believe kindness is best given away without much thought. I also think that kindness, if practiced, can become a happy-making habit.
I think noting acts of kindness is a form of kindness, too!
It refocuses us on who we want to be. :)
These things do change us for the better! And, I love your idea of seeing all people as equals regardless. It is so true!!
Sincere is the keyword. Being kind in the hopes of getting some kind of return on your emotional investment will get you nowhere.
Your kind and open heart shines through with every word. I can feel your love. That's what kindness does.
This was a very timely read for me this week! Thank you :)
